andResilience for Business
Up until recently, the perceived and actual need for businesses to manage and respond to individual employee mental health challenges was limited. Whilst a very small minority of employees had mental health challenges these were the exception.
Fast forward to the present day where one in four (15+ million) people in the U.K. experience mental health problems each year.
Mental health issues, whether generated inside and/or outside the workplace, are now very much the problem of the responsible employer, both to support and promote the wellbeing of individual employees and to try and manage and reduce the many working hours and days lost directly and indirectly to mental health problems.
Even though businesses increasingly provide a range of Employee mental health support tools and senior management training programmes, workplace mental health challenges continue to rise. With over 12 million people p.a. reporting anxiety as being their primary mental health problem, employers and employees are struggling to cope.
How can we help
andResilience for business is about creating an environment where individuals are encouraged to adapt and cope effectively in the face of stress, trauma and mental health adversity, whether in a personal or a business context. It encourages everyone to recognise that life is often far from perfect and that wellbeing, happiness and success depend on how well prepared individuals are to step up to and overcome the challenges they will face. It encourages a positive, can-do mindset in the face of all types of adversity and explores the different resources and techniques individuals can lean on to overcome personal and corporate challenges.
